Footpath is an unrecorded right of way

2004 - January 22	The footpath officer tells us that: 'the county council is of the opinion that the evidence provided by you may be sufficient to establish the existence of a public right of way on foot and are treating the claimed route accordingly'. (122, 128)
2004 - February 9	It is announced that the temporary footpath closure has been extended until September which would bring the closure up to 13 months in total. (126) click here to see August 9 2003: a temporary footpath closure order for a maximum duration of 6 months
2004 - February 25	We hear from the footpath officer that: 'As far as the County Council is aware, there was no extension to the temporary closure'. (127)
2004 - March 2	The footpath officer tells us that: 'It appears that the 'Road Works' page on the Durham County Council web page was incorrectly compiled, implying that the extension had been made. The culprits have been notified and the web page should be altered ASAP'. (129)
