Objections strengthen after order published

the soldiers are gone but the tank tracks remain

2007 - April 12

18 months after the highway committee voted to divert our public right of way Durham County Council made a Public Path Diversion Order regarding Stainton Grove Footpath. (248)

2007 - April 18

The order was posted at each end of the section which it is proposed to extinguish.  It was also published in the local press. (250)
2007 - May 18
When the closing date arrived Durham County Council had received letters of objection from residents, the community association and the parish council.  The matter will now be passed to the secretary of state and a public inquiry will be held. (251)
