Objections raised at Highway Committee meeting

the soldiers are gone but the tank tracks remain

2005 - July 25
The countryside officer tells us that the county council 'accepts the existence of a public footpath on the claimed route'. (137)
2005 - October 24
Objections to the proposal to divert the footpath were received from residents, the community association and the parish council but the highway committee resolved:
 
'That a diversion order be made under the terms of Section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.' (243-4)

'The council solicitor said the proposed diversion would now be advertised in the local press. If any objection resulted from that, a public inquiry would follow'. (56) Darlington & Stockton Times, October 28 2005

Notices are posted - not in January 2006 as expected but after a period of 18 months in April 2007.
