The information given by our visitors will be used
towards the production of five interpretation panels showing some of the history of the site. A leaflet
will feature a heritage trail and the location of the panels.

Our visitors included people
who had been at the camp in the immediate post-war years. They helped us to add
new facts to our site plan and gave firsthand accounts of life on the camp. Others
remembered the camp being built, some had lived in the (long gone) married quarters and others had worked or gone to school
here.
One panel will be researched and designed by a local school as part of
their curriculum.
The ww2 Re-enactors North East and the Military Vehicle Trust (North East) came and set up on The Green and made a
very interesting display.

There doesn't seem to be much information
available for the 1940's because it was war time and security was paramount. Added
to this cameras were not as widely owned as they are today and of course they wouldn't have been allowed in sensitive areas.
