Hi

I would be very interested to hear any memories of Warcop Army Camp, which is still in operation, especially if copies of photos could be supplied.

I have been one of the Range Officers at Warcop for the last 12 years and I am always trying to get information and history not only for myself but so that it can be used in our conference room for visitors to view. I think it’s very important to know why Warcop as a military training facility is in existence and how troops from many different cap badges have benefited from training here, from WW2 to Afghanistan

Regards

John Woods

Our heritage is who we are today; we are the only ones who can protect it.

The Memories of Stainton Grove Military Camp Project was one of a number of community-led projects along and nearby the route of the proposed South West Durham Heritage Corridor.

The South West Durham Heritage Corridor will be a multi-user route along the former Bishop Auckland to Barnard Castle railway line.
