Could please help with the following?

I am tracing my armoured corps history.  I was in it from late 1946 to August 1948 and nobody can help as to where it was.  It was in the Barnard castle area on the main road to Darlington.  Stainton Camp is the most likely camp.  We used to use Daimler armoured cars to train on.  Hoping this will help you 

Any information will be appreciated.

I have found out I was in Barford camp - the train we caught to go on Xmas leave 1946 used the Broomielaw station.

The Memories of Stainton Grove Military Camp Project was one of a number of community-led projects along and nearby the route of the proposed South West Durham Heritage Corridor. 

 

The South West Durham Heritage Corridor will be a multi-user route along the former Bishop Auckland to Barnard Castle railway line.
